New Moon In Scorpio – Day 1088

New Moon In Scorpio

I’m sitting here on my couch anticipating this final new moon of my 1111 Devotion. Specifically, the new moon in Scorpio will occur tomorrow: Thursday, 4 November 2021, at 5:14 p.m. EDT. I feel like I should be planting the seeds for the next chapter in my life.

Perhaps that sounds a bit hyperbolic. Maybe it is. But it’s how I feel and what I’m contemplating as I sit here listening to the silence. For one thing, as I pointed out above, this new moon is taking place in Scorpio, the sign of death and rebirth, hidden or buried treasures, resources, and secrets.

Obviously, one thing that will die during the upcoming lunation is my 1111 Devotion. It comes to an end this month. Will the commitment, the Act of Power, the dedication and devotion it represents to the memory of my son find another expression? Will my 1111 Devotion die in one sense yet find rebirth in another form?

I don’t know. I’ve yet to receive any inspiration or direction from Spirit powerful enough for me to sit back and say, “Yup. That’s it. That’s my next devotion.”

So I wait.

A Card For Inspiration or Guidance

Perhaps choosing a card for this New Moon (I’ll capitalize it in this sentence – it wants to feel special) will give me a clue or serve as an inspiration? As I’ve been working a lot with my Witches’ Wisdom Tarot deck this year, I feel drawn to work with it tonight.

As I sat here shuffling, I held as my intention the question, “What seed can I plant at this time that will serve as the next expression of my devotion to Karl’s life? How can I continue to honor him and his memory?”

Ace of Air – Witches’ Wisdom Tarot* by Phyllis Curott

Ace of Air

At first glance, I’m struck by how similar the background of the card resembles the two photos I took of the night sky this evening as Karl, the pups, and I took a quick walk. It is indeed the time of the approaching Dark Moon. The absence of the moon’s brilliant reflected light allowed the artistry of the clouds and stars to fill us with wonder and awe.

To me, an Ace represents a gift, a seed, a new beginning. So I’m delighted that an Ace appeared as an inspiration for this new moon and the larger purpose of my intention. The nature of the seed I’m being asked to plant? Just from looking at the card and knowing that the element of Air is associated with thoughts and the mind, I suppose it could signify a new project ‘of the mind.’

A Few More Details

Of course, the main element of the card (beyond the backdrop of the starry evening sky) is the Celtic harp created from bones. I’m not sure in this moment what those bones signify (or if it’s even Celtic), but they feel sturdy and somehow fundamental. The spurs on the bones? Or are they claws? I’m not sure what they signify – perhaps when I read the narrative from the deck’s creator I’ll understand better what inspired her (and her illustrator) to include them in this image.

There is a sturdiness to the three sides of this musical instrument that sends vibrations, if not melody and beauty, out into the world. It reminds me of how I felt for the first seven years of Karl’s life – that we were a “Sacred Three.” And then of course, with the arrival of M and S, our sons themselves were our Sacred Three.

I’m also keenly aware of the Spider spinning the 13th string of the instrument. Grandmother Spider is the creator of the Universe and thus is the ultimate representative of creativity. The strings also seem to be incorporating the stars, which somehow feels significant. And 13 is a wonderfully sacred number associated with the Feminine and the Goddess – not to mention that Karl was born on a 13th.

Each of the bones comprising the Harp is of a different part of the body. Are they all related to the legs, perhaps signifying movement? Are they even all human – or are any of them? I’m not sure. Again, those talons or claws feel significant.

When I really look closely at this card, I notice something red in the upper left corner of the harp. I’m not sure what it is. And this obvious instrument of great power is sitting atop a grassy hill –  evoking a sense of it being an offering to the sky and the stars…and maybe even the Universe.

Sleep On It

I’m going to sleep on the details I’ve noticed in this image and reflect upon this card’s message as the new moon occurs. Perhaps tomorrow night I’ll share what ‘the book’ has to say. Something may be dying, but surely a rebirth is also on its way. What will this new moon in Scorpio inspire you to end…and begin?

Blue Taurus Moon – Day 719

Mystic Art Medicine Oracle Cards by Cher Lyn – “Dreamtime”

Blue Taurus Moon

I’m sure most of us are aware that in less than ten hours (10:49 a.m. E.T. on Saturday, October 31, 2020), we will be experiencing a full moon in the sign of Taurus. It’s in Taurus because the sun is in Scorpio – and a full moon occurs when the sun and moon are in opposition, or on opposite sides of the zodiac (opposite each other from the perspective of Earth). And to make this day even more powerful, it’s actually a blue Taurus moon because it is the second full moon occurring within the same month.

I actually wrote about this month’s ‘first’ full moon, which occurred on October 1st (in the sign of Aries, since the sun was in Libra). One of my suggestions in that post was to pay attention to what was unfolding in our lives at the beginning of each week, because numerologically, each week in October can bring a foreshadowing of what we might expect in each of the quarters of the coming year.

To be honest, I didn’t consciously think about what was unfolding at each quarter phase of the moon this month, but I’ve left myself some clues (these posts being at least somewhat of a reference point, as well as my journal entries). I’m hoping all of you are keeping journals too, or are at the very least jotting down on a calendar or something a few memories or reference points to important experiences you’re having throughout these extraordinary times.

I know I’m like a broken record on this subject, but I promise you, your future self will never regret that you left it mnemonic breadcrumbs. Never.

Full Moon and Weekend Focus

I pulled two cards for us in contemplation of the power of this full moon, landing as it is on Halloween, and this being the final weekend before this momentous election on Tuesday.

What should we be focusing upon, I asked Spirit. I consulted the Mystic Art Medicine Oracle Cards by Cher Lyn, which have been such powerful guideposts for us these past several months.

Dreamtime

The top card I chose was Dreamtime.

Dreamtime – “Aboriginal Dream”

Dream into your world with a song

Awaken your Heart’s vibration…

You do belong…

Cosmic Stars shine from above…

The Earth’s held in balance,

The Earth’s held in love.

The Aboriginal sends his sounds

Through the didgeridoo

Into the Earth, me and you…

—Cher Lyn

“Aboriginal people believe the true source of the mind is in the inspirational reality of the Dreamtime. In the painting of “Aboriginal Dream,” the Aborigine’s body is ceremonially decorated. He holds his didgeridoo connecting Earth and sky through vibration. He sends energy into the Earth symbolizing the integration of light into matter. Healing happens through the ancestors’ love all working together with the Goddess of Creation to help bring us back into harmony. The Aboriginal Dreamtime medicine is in the Earth’s heart and spirals, rocks, the oceans, cosmic universe and the sky.

It is important to take notice of your dreams. There lie within hidden messages. (…)

Choosing this medicine cards suggests you follow the Aboriginal into the Dreamtime and explore the otherworldly mysteries unfolding for you. The power to dream is the power to participate in the creation matrix that is only found within you. Hidden messages from ancient times cross over through and into your past, present and future time continuum. Awaken in your Dreamtime wisdom. Create and play in infinite potential.”

Mystic Art Medicine Oracle Cards by Cher Lyn – “Integration”

Integration

The “foundation” card I chose (which is what I call the card that’s on the bottom of the deck when I make a selection) was Integration.

Integration – “Rainbow Blesser”

A command for our souls, all parts to return.

I call in God’s tribes to integrate these sides,

Easily and gently, let peace within reside.

—Cher Lyn

“The image shown is from the upper portion of the painting “Rainbow Blesser.” An Indigenous profile of a man wears his Godhead as a headdress. His vertebra surrounding the spinal cord is aligned with vibrant colors associated with the chakras. His healing hand tattooed with a six-pointed star is integrated with a heart, sending love energies to the Earth’s children. The vision of Rainbow Blesser brings in the birth of the rainbow tribe creating healing, unity, and Integration into One.

The Hopi Indians believe that each of the world’s religions contains a thread and that these threads are always seeking each other. Integrally woven like a rope that will pull us out of this dark world and into the next. We all share an identical need to feel love. No matter what color the skin or how different the dress and how you perceive the behavior, there is no real significant division between others and us. Our basic nature is the same.

Inside each and every one of us, our core is entirely whole and complete. Yet, on the exterior everything is fragmented and appearances can seem strange. (…)

You do not need a new dogma to believe in. Inside at your core, you are perfect. You can always cultivate a stronger sense of compassion and tolerance towards yourself and others. Inspire unity in your consciousness. Each of us carries an aspect, clue, or piece of existence on how Creation works. Individually first, then collectively we come together to bring humanity into wholeness.

My Take

Yet again, we’re being asked to dream our reality into being. This is important for us to do this weekend, particularly at the powerful time of this blue moon.

At the very foundation of what we’re dreaming into being is our knowledge, at our core, that WE are the RAINBOW TRIBE that yearns to bring humanity together.

We can do this.

A Time of Letting Go – Day 353

A Time of Letting Go

I mentioned yesterday that we’re entering another period of intensity. Part of that has to do with the fact that the sun has moved into Scorpio, which traditionally is associated with death and regeneration. And because we’re human, most of us tighten up over the mere mention of death, so we barely even pay attention to the ‘regeneration’ aspect of Scorpio.

We just get freaked out over the prospect of death.

Not Just the Sun

Reading this you may think to yourself, yeah, but we go through Scorpio every year. Big deal. Why do things feel especially tense and fraught right now?

And I would answer that it’s a function of other aspects that are occurring right now as well. Some of these aspects are other planets dancing (or sparring) with each other in specific signs that result in making it feel as though they’re piling on and making everything worse.

I’ve just spent a bunch of time just now trying to synopsize my understanding of what’s going on astrologically, and I feel like all I’ve been doing is deleting.

Let the Experts Speak

So instead of trying to distill what I’ve read, I’m going to share a couple of links to astrologers I’ve linked to before. Kaypacha is a video you watch, while Chani writes a great analysis. The third link I’m sharing is to Evolving Door, which I believe I discovered through a friend, and found it to be an interesting analysis.

Let’s face it: There’s no denying that most, if not all, of us are experiencing the intensity I mentioned in yesterday’s post. We’re seeing it outside of us and we’re feeling it within ourselves. And the more information we can gather that helps us navigate these turbulent times the better.

Go Deep

With Mercury going retrograde tomorrow for three weeks, I feel it really just underscores the need for all of us to really dig deep and, as Kaypacha says, figure out who we want to be and what we truly want to create in our lives – and let go of that which no longer serves us.

It feels like we’re all being called upon to look deeply within and exercise radical honesty with ourselves.

Talk about a death. It sounds to me like we’re being called to face the death of bullshitting ourselves. What no longer works? What hasn’t been working for a long, long time, but we’ve refused to acknowledge and act on that truth? What have we been telling ourselves we just can’t stop feeling or doing or believing because we’ll die to our own illusions of who we are?

The Cool Thing

What we need to remember is that regeneration will occur. We can and will create a new reality for ourselves if we finally stop trying to hang on to what hasn’t been working and let it go. That’s the cool thing about this whole process. Nothing is static. Change is constantly occurring. The real questions are whether we’re going to stop resisting, choose to be conscious of our lives and our choices, and allow ourselves to jettison the baggage that’s been keeping us from flowing into a new expression of our lives?

Join me. Let’s let it go. Let’s see what happens!
